Biometrics & trusted device
Use strong authentication and device fingerprinting to bind real users to verified phone, email, and devices to safeguard access and prevent ATOs.
Multi-device FIDO credentials (Passkeys) are the baseline level of verification with phishing-resistance baked in
Biometric authentication is a core part of establishing the user-Portabl connection. Biometric unlock via passkey is used any time the Portabl account is used for identity verification and identity credential issuance to create a secure connection
Treat possession, ownership, and reputation as additional risk signals bound to sharable identity data
As a user adds phone and email details to their account, Portabl establishes baseline authenticity factors that connects the dots between person, device, and contact methods.
Strong bindings between users, devices, and accounts
We bind users to fingerprinted devices to "lock in" uniqueness and pair it with cryptographic keys. Doing this creates secure, provable linkages between validated PII and the underlying owner to protect against ID hijacking, ATOs, impersonation, and credential abuse.
How it works
Verify Device - Verify contact methods and devices by sending secure OTPs to the prompted contact method or performing a silent check based on device ID
Attach a Passkey - Creating a passkey as a second factor defines the biometric connection to the account.
Tap to Prove - At subsequent verification events, users establish a secure verification session using just their passkey.
